I don't know what kind of tree it is. I was thinking it was a redbud, but looking in my Tree book - now I'm not so sure. The little flowers look cherry blossom-ish, but it never gets berries. Dunno.
On a better note, last year I planted a Japanese dogwood (I thought it was a regular dogwood but that's another tale...) that suffered terribly from the drought. But I think it is actually alive. Hooray!! Half of it might be dead - it is too soon to tell.
I'm a breast cancer SURVIVOR & I live one day at a time. I'm also a freelance writer, incredibly happily married, and the mother of three amazing sons.
Brief Version:
I was diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive lobular cancer in March 2006. At the time of diagnosis, I was 41 years old.
Treatment: initial lumpectomy followed by bilateral mastectomy, 4 rounds chemo , oophorectomy, delayed reconstruction (tissue expanders replaced with saline implants), Arimidex.
Long Version:
It is woven through the archives, and continues to be presented here.
